These are places we enjoy to go to the area and are not too far from one of our three hotels!
With over 3,000 acres, this is the largest park in the county! There are a ton of walking/hiking trails and bike trails! There is even a pool, a man-made lake with kayaking and stand up paddle boarding available, and a great restaurant!
This was the place where Emily and Andrew first became boyfriend and girlfriend.
The best museum for kids! Fun fact: Emily and Abby both visited this place as a field trip during Orientation week at Carnegie Mellon University. They highly recommend!
A giant hands-on Science Museum! Complete a 71 x 39 foot giant movie screen, planetarium, a submarine, and a 100 year old Miniature Railroad of Pittsburgh! Lots of things to do for young and old.
A favorite of ours right in the middle of North Park! Perfect for warm nights on the lake.
A local family-owned Italian restaurant that is very popular in West View. Delicious homemade pasta every night.
A cute coffee place near Shannopin Country Club!
One of our favorite spots for Mexican food in the Pittsburgh area.
We love coming here for their cider and delicious pizza!
Andrew's personal favorite diner in the whole Pittsburgh area.
A Smithsonian affiliate museum, this is the best place to see all of Pittsburgh's history in one place! Highlights include set pieces, puppets, and costumes from Mister Roger's Neighborhood that was filmed at WQED, where Emily now works.
A fantastic Argentinian steakhouse in downtown Pittsburgh.
A beautiful overlook in the Southside that gives you the best view of Pittsburgh! We recommend taking the Duquesne Incline up and down, and park at the bottom where they have their own parking lot! You can walk along the beautiful scenic overlook. We would NOT recommend driving up to Mt. Lebanon, unless you are looking for a fun and slightly treacherous adventure, and possibly no parking.
The most Pittsburgh thing ever! Ride the incline up, or down, or both to get the best view of Pittsburgh, and see what it was like to be a miner! Andrew took Emily up on their second date to see all of Pittsburgh together.
A large botanical garden filled with a rotating variety of plants! Make sure to check out the orchid room and the miniature train! Emily and Andrew go a couple of times a year, especially during Valentines Day and Christmas, when the outside comes alive with lights!
